Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) joined the likes of CSK and MI to win back-to-back IPL titles in 2025 and 2026. They will be trying to become the first team to win the title thrice in a row in IPL 2027, and they’ve formed quite a squad for the same.
However, like every other IPL franchise, RCB will also likely let go of some of the players before the IPL 2027 auction, and today, we see which three overseas players might be cut on or before the cutoff date of November 15.
Here are the 3 overseas players RCB might release ahead of the IPL 2027 mini-auction:
3. Richard Gleeson
Richard Gleeson was picked by RCB in the IPL 2026 auction as a backup for the injured Josh Hazlewood. But they tried Jacob Duffy first, and he performed so well that Gleeson spent his time on the bench for RCB the entire season. The 38-year-old pacer from England has a good record in T20s with 198 scalps in 165 games, but it is unlikely that he will be retained by RCB. They might go for someone younger in his place, planning for the future.
2. Romario Shepherd
Romario Shepherd has been a critical piece of RCB’s dual IPL championship-winning unit. He was excellent in IPL 2025, with a strike rate of 291.33, including one of the quickest IPL fifties, and picked 6 wickets. But in IPL 2026, Shepherd’s strike rate went down to 125, and he picked 7 wickets at an economy of 11.92. RCB will be in a tough spot, as Shepherd gives them 2-3 overs and hitting power down the batting order. But his expensive bowling and inconsistent batting might lead to RCB releasing him and finding a better alternative from upcoming T20 stars.
1. Jordan Cox
Jordan Cox has become a vital member of the England team across formats and recently had a good outing in Tests as well. He has been part of the RCB unit for two seasons but is yet to get a match in the IPL. Cox has shown tremendous capability of carnage in T20s, with 4288 in 194 games and a strike rate of 140.59. With Phil Salt fit and raring to go, it might be better for Cox to get released and try his hands at other franchises in the IPL 2027 auction.
