IPL 2027: 3 Overseas players GT might release ahead of mini-auction

IPL 2027: 3 Overseas players GT might release ahead of mini-auction

Gujarat Titans (GT) has an excellent IPL 2026 tournament. They had finished second on the points table with 9 wins from 14 games and made it into the finals. They defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 2 to meet RCB in the final, losing to the Rajat Patidar side in the summit clash.

Gujarat Titans have a very established core in the squad, and there is very little margin of error in that. However, there are chances that GT might release a few players to make some space and bring better balance in the squad for IPL 2027. Today, we see the 3 overseas players that GT might release before the IPL 2027 auction.

Here are the 3 overseas players GT might release ahead of the IPL 2027 mini-auction:

3. Connor Esterhuizen

Connor Esterhuizen was picked by the Gujarat Titans as a replacement player for Tom Banton in IPL 2026. Esterhuizen didn’t get a chance to play a single game in the IPL but has a very good record in T20s. He has scored 1450 runs in 65 games with 8 fifties and a best score of 98* and a strike rate of 142.57. He is also a capable wicketkeeper, having kept for South Africa in ODIs and T20Is.

2. Luke Wood

Luke Wood, the England left-arm pacer, was picked as a backup bowler by the GT franchise for IPL 2026. He didn’t get a game for the Gujarat Titans in the recent IPL, though. Luke Wood has a good T20 record of 230 wickets in 224 games at an economy of 8.59. He has also played 3 ODIs and 17 T20Is for England.

1. Tom Banton

England wicketkeeper-batter Tom Banton was added by the GT franchise in the IPL 2026 auction as a big-hitting powerhouse. However, he missed the entire IPL due to a finger injury. Gujarat Titans might release Tom Banton before the IPL 2027 auction and might rebuy him in the auction for a much lesser price.
