“He is one bowler who will serve Indian cricket for a long time” - Hanuma Vihari praises young Indian bowler

Discarded Indian batter Hanuma Vihari has reckoned that the young Indian pacer Prince Yadav will serve Indian cricket for a longer period of time, especially in the white-ball format. Notably, his comments came right after Prince’s bowling performances in the ongoing New Zealand T20I series.

While Prince was benched for the first T20I against New Zealand in Christchurch, he returned with figures of 1/30 in the second T20I. In the third T20I, he conceded 44 runs without scalping a wicket. In 11 T20Is so far, Prince has scalped 11 wickets at an economy of 8.69, including the best figures of 3/22 on his debut against Ireland.

“Prince Yadav is bowling the important overs. I think he is one bowler who will serve Indian cricket for a long time, especially in the white-ball format. I would not compare him to Bumrah, but he is there. He is getting there. He is creating impact. He has got a good yorker and can be a death-overs specialist,” Hanuma Vihari said in a video on his YouTube channel.

In another discussion on his YouTube channel, Vihari reckoned that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Zaheer Khan would be keen to bring in ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya to the franchise. Notably, Pandya has been in discussions with multiple franchises and is reportedly seeking to exit the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise.

“CSK have completely changed their coaching staff. They are making changes. The interesting thing is about the trade now. There have been reports that say Hardik Pandya to CSK is certain, also looking at the equation with MS Dhoni. Unless things go really bad, I feel he will come to CSK. It will be good for them if it happens. I think Zaheer would be keen to bring Hardik,” Vihari said on his YouTube channel.
