“There have been many mistakes” – Mohammad Kaif expresses his disappointment over Indian team management

Former Indian batter Mohammad Kaif has expressed his disappointment over frequent chopping and changing in the Indian playing XI in the just-concluded Ireland and England tours, which India lost by 0-2 and 0-4, respectively.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaif has slammed the Indian team management, headed by Gambhir, for not treating the T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament, Sanju Samson, in a proper way during the England tour.

“There is nothing bad in losing. But it is the way we played, we were nowhere in the game. You look from Ireland till here, we were not there in any game. I want to praise them but there has been no moment like that. How do I praise then? They do not know their best XI. I can’t remember any such management like this before. It is clearly visible with the changes they made overall, it looked like there was some club level match going on where there are changes in every game,” Kaif said in a video on his YouTube channel.

“You should have made a place for Abhishek, Samson, and Vaibhav together in your best XI. Samson and Vaibhav should have played together. Samson played only one game against England are got dropped. The same Samson who hit these English bowlers in the T20 World Cup semifinal. If you had dropped him and he is not there for Zimbabwe, then why did you not play Vaibhav? There have been many mistakes,” he added.

Furthermore, Kaif has also insisted that Sooryavanshi should have played in the two-match Ireland series itself. However, his debut was delayed until the second T20I of the England tour, which didn’t go down well with Kaif.

“Under this management, this is not the first time we have lost like this. We have been losing, be it New Zealand, South Africa. Vaibhav will be disappointed. I understand he could not score in England. It was going to be difficult with the conditions. But if someone tells me he is not worth being part of the team, I will not agree. 750 runs in the IPL is not a fluke. He should have played in Ireland first. You should not give someone a break when they are in their best form,” he expressed.
